Monday Sep 5^{th<\/sup>. Fine morning again, but dull, very cool, sea slightly ruffled, spent 1 \u00bd hours playing at quoits. Exercise is enjoyable now & I walk the deck now & again. Our position at noon was as follows: Lat. N. 39.25, Long. W. 139.45, distance run 318, & to Victoria now 902, where we ought to be before noon on Thursday. It is afternoon, 2:30 ship\u2019s time, & the cold is increasing. I note some have donned their overcoats, others rugs. Willie\u00a0maybe told you that Mr. Bennington\u00a0has an uncle who lives in Victoria & to whom he gave me a letter of introduction, & I hope time will permit me looking him up.<\/p>\n}

Our passengers from Honolulu\u00a0have all got over their sea sickness & appear at table with regularity. The saloon makes a fair shew at meal times & all seem to enjoy their food. So far the sea air has never sharpened my appetite.<\/p>\n
