Divine service announced for 11 a.m., Captain read the form of C. of E. prayer, the doctor the two lessons. 1st<\/sup> lesson 2nd<\/sup> Kings 5th<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup> lesson 1st<\/sup> Corinth. chapter 14 to v. 20. Hymns A&M 166, 224, 370 Coll[ection] \u00a31.15.6. These collections are divided between the NSW Shipwreck Relief Society & the Vancouver Seaman\u2019s Institute.<\/p>\n}

The day passed off very quickly, music at night. (Writing is difficult owing to vibration.) Our position on Sunday at noon was: Lat. N. 35.42, Long. W. 144.17, run 324 leaving 1,220 to Victoria, light wind, smooth sea.[1]<\/a><\/p>\n

I had to put overcoat on at night after dinner. We find the cold increasing, & no wonder as the change has been sudden. The therm. in my cabin stood at 75\u00b0 today & this is down on dining saloon deck where in hot climate it is almost unbearable. A few days ago it registered 88\u00b0 however, the bracing atmosphere is more agreeable than the moist, hot climate of the tropics.[2]<\/a><\/p>\n

I saw the moon rise at night & a picture it was as she ascended quietly & slowly, & then burst out her flash of clear light over the face of the Pacific Ocean, a sight easily remembered. I turned in at 10 & slept peacefully & restfully.<\/p>\n
