I had to put overcoat on at night after dinner. We find the cold increasing, & no wonder as the change has been sudden. The therm. in my cabin stood at 75° today & this is down on dining saloon deck where in hot climate it is almost unbearable. A few days ago it registered 88° however, the bracing atmosphere is more agreeable than the moist, hot climate of the tropics.[2]
I saw the moon rise at night & a picture it was as she ascended quietly & slowly, & then burst out her flash of clear light over the face of the Pacific Ocean, a sight easily remembered. I turned in at 10 & slept peacefully & restfully.
