Melbourne, Saturday morning, July 9/98. I said in my Adelaide batch that the next would be from Sydney, but as I have had more to write about that [sic] I anticipated, I will just post up to date here, & should I have any thing to send from Sydney, you will get both lots by same mail, as Tuesday is the day for posting in Sydney, & Wednesday here.
I am going over to the station in a few minutes to engage a “sleeper” for my journey tonight. I will also post 26 post cards, various designs, to friends, & you will also get an album of Melbourne.

I omitted to say, Mrs. Manning has a water colour drawing of Shilbottle by one of the Smiths. Also that I saw great blocks of frozen kidneys yesterday in the refrigerator. Willie & I saw some in Farringdon Market.[1]
