Tuesday, Nov. 22, raining & cold as we get north & nearing Ireland. Had breakfast in bed & did not get up till 11 o’clock. Not much pleasure at sea on wet days. I’ve been very lucky, however, all my voyaging & had very few wet days. It is now 6:30 p.m., & as we had only 184 knots to run from noon today, we are expected to reach Queenstown about 10 p.m. 68 leave steamer there, others who have never been in Britain before are feeling the excitement of nearing her shores. The moon is overcast tonight unfortunately. The Fastnet light is the first object expected & many are now on the look out.
